Text: "You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled by men. You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stnad, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven. In this sermon we were challenged to Live Life 3 Dimensionally or "3D". Here are the 3 "D"'s from Pastor Dan's Sermon.
1. Develope Friendships. We might be sent to befriend those who don't know Jesus, those with no hope; to be the one the Holy Spirit uses to reach and save the lost. We need to shine on their lives like a city on a hill. We need sometimes, to walk across the room, establish personal relationships; to share our stories. Be intentional.
2. Discovering stories. Share where you've been, how God got ahold of you, and share what God is doing in your life, and around you. People don't want to know how much you know until the know how much you care. 1 Corinthians 9:22-23 says that in order to reach people, we have to become all things to all men that we might save some. We need to relate with people. Seek what others have to say and listen. Don't be anything you're not, be yourself.
3. Discern next steps. What are you going to do with this info you have sought out. Do not ignore opportunities set forth by the Lord. He will lead you to people that need what you have to offer. He will also stretch you to equip you with what you need to reach the lost. What you have to offer feeds their needs, not their wants. Be a resource for God to channel through.
Do whatever it takes. Will you be the one!?!
